Job Description Summary
The Social Media Assistant would be responsible for creating a fun, enjoyable social experience through of the Pet Adoption Center’s Social Media channels, by creating timely/relevant content, moderating and responding to responses, keeping track of social analytics and growth, coordinating promotion of programs organization-wide, while assisting the Marketing & Communications Manager with other social campaigns
Main Responsibilities/Functions
- Responsible for online initiatives including:
- The Pet Adoption Centers’ Social Media channels: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok.
- Liaising with the other departments to actively and consistently promote programs from all branches of the organization.
- Assist Adoption Department Supervisor with pet photography and video for social posts and campaigns.
- Assist Marketing & Communications Manager with writing fundraising posts, coordinating direct mail/Social Media campaigns, and other fundraising/marketing campaign pieces.
- Assist other departments (ex. Foster, Volunteer) with Social Media needs
- Creating graphics (web + print) and taking/facilitating photographs for Social Media posts and campaigns.
- Track social analytics and growth.
- Track current trends, memes, etc. to create timely and relevant Social Media posts.
- Respond to Social Media communications in order to foster and build relationships with our online community.
- Create a regular publishing schedule and promote content through social advertising.
Qualifications
- Basic understanding of public relations, communications, and Social Media.
- Ability to tell compelling stories in not only veterinary medical cases for Center animals, but also sharing life at the Center and post-adoption stories.
- Experience with storytelling and creating cohesive social campaigns (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter).
- Excellent verbal and written skills, time management skills, as well as ability to be self-motivated and disciplined
- Strong organizational, tracking, and multitasking skills with great attention to detail.
- Requires patience and tact when working with difficult, emotional or angry people.
- Adaptable, dependable and responsible
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Sincere interest in MSRPAC mission and vision.
- Able to understand the importance of working as a team.
- Comfortable handling all sizes of cats and dogs.
- Respectful and positive attitude in handling of the animals.
- Able to lift 25 pounds
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
