Job Description
Responsible for operating Roto-Mold equipment, produce a quality product for our assembly team and our customers. Maintain equipment while performing preventive maintenance to keep down time to a minimum.
1. Responsible for daily operation of Rotational Molding equipment. Duties include startup & shutdown, loading / unloading, mold changes, and troubleshooting.
2. Responsible for overall equipment and mold maintenance. Technician performs standard preventive maintenance activities and recommends / oversees more significant machine & mold repair.
3. Responsible for trimming and pre-assembly of molded products.
4. Insures that products are produced to specification and insures overall molded product quality.
5. Documents all molding, trim / pre-assembly, preventive maintenance and safety procedures and insures compliance.
6. Responsible for determining molded component needs and maintaining appropriate inventory levels. Inventory levels will be established that insure adequate stock to meet production needs, while minimizing overall inventory levels.
7. Monitors inventory levels and advises supervisor of potential part shortages. Assists in maintaining accurate inventory levels.
8. Operates lift truck or other material movement equipment to move parts and molds to or from designated work area.
9. Participates in lean manufacturing initiatives by contributing improvement ideas and assisting with implementation within the manufacturing environment. Initiatives include, but are not limited to, cycle time reduction, mold component kanbans, and mold change time reductions.
10. Insures that safe operating practices are established and followed as it relates to the Rotational Molding process. Notifies supervisor of any potentially unsafe conditions.
11. Notifies supervisor when problems arise.
12. Makes optimum use of time and keeps work area clean and neat.
13. Abides by all the policies, procedures, guidelines of the Company, including conformance to good common sense safety practices and regulations.
1. Three (3) years of molding experience preferred, including mold change and preventive maintenance activities. Must be proficient in troubleshooting equipment, process and mold related issues.
2. Must have ability to read and interpret bills of material and product manuals.
3. Must be able to operate a forklift.
