The Department of Ethnic Studies on the campus of Sacramento State is seeking to hire a Social Media Specialist student assistant for the Full Circle Project (FCP).

This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student position. Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc. is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc. and the employee. This means that either University Enterprises, Inc. or the employee can, at any time, terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause.
UEI does not allow employees to hold more than one UEI Job at a time, or work in more than one college or center per pay period. UEI employees who are considering leaving their current UEI position for a different UEI posting should inform their supervisor in writing and provide at least a week's notice.
Depending on the type of position you are applying for, a pre-employment background check consisting of one or more of the following may be conducted: employment history, professional references, criminal check: educational verification (i.e., degree, license, or official transcript), DMV clearance. Applicants will be required to pass required pre-employment checks to the satisfaction of University Enterprises, Inc. (UEI) and the hiring Agency or Department.

Prerequisites
Must be a Sac State student enrolled in at least six-semester units (undergrad) or four-semester units (graduate) students.

Work Schedule
Flexible workdays and work hours, Monday - Friday, between 8 AM - 5 PM. Final work schedule to be determined by supervisor.
Additional Work Schedule
Student Assistant and Graduate Assistant employees generally work up to 20 hours per workweek (Sunday - Saturday) during the academic year and up to 40 hours per workweek during breaks; (winter, spring & summer).
Minimum Qualifications

• Willingness to learn from and work with Information Technology Consultants at Sacramento State.
• Practical experience in graphics design using Photoshop, Illustrator, and other multimedia software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
• Strong desire and willingness to work in a collaborative, innovative, flexible, and team-oriented environment with the ability to accept directions from various staff members
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Must be a current Sacramento State (CSUS) student in good standing (2.0 GPA or higher) with an expected graduation date of May 2016 or later.

Preferred Qualifications

• Film major student with all required lower division units completed; may be substituted with a minimum of 6 months of professional experience.
• A design major student with all required lower division units completed with a C- or better (may be substituted with a minimum of 6 months of professional experience).
• Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining websites and practical knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, CSS, SQL, etc.
• Knowledge of and experience with Web Content Management system.
• Knowledge and awareness of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) culture and history.
• Knowledge of photography and videography skills, as well. as Lightroom, Premiere, or other editing programs.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Be present at events to film and photograph events.
• Edit photos and videos.
• Design graphic flyers for events.
• Work With Social Media Specialist Positions in creating the best social media outreach (YouTube, Tiktok, Twitter, Facebook, etc.).
• Help assist staff with other work and assignments both on and off-site.
• Ensure all media and social media are aligned with CSUS Media guidelines and expectations.
• Update content on the FCP website and other affiliated websites as directed.
• Provide regular updates and tweets for FCP Facebook page and Twitter utilizing strong communication skills, tact, and professionalism.
• Operate effectively as an individual for quick turnaround of enhancements and fixes to the FCP website.
• Responsible for meeting expectations and deliverables on time and in high quality.
• Suggest changes to website, with a creative eye towards increasing engaging aspects of website.
• Troubleshoot problems with website, communicate and work with Sacramento State Web Services to suggest and/or implement potential fixes as necessary.
• Other duties as required by the Full Circle Project staff.

Physical Requirements
Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment including computer workstations, telephones, calculators, copiers, printers, and scanners with or without reasonable accommodation.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in a hybrid environment.
Students will be required to work according to the current UEI remote workplace policy and sign a UEI telework agreement.
