The Social and PR Coordinator helps coordinate PR, Social Media and storytelling efforts to drive adoptions, donations and awareness for LifeLine Animal Project. This position works in person at the Community Animal Center (CAC) and focuses on creating high-quality content (primarily videos and photos) for Social Media and PR efforts. Working on the marketing team, this role promotes the needs of the shelter, increases LifeLine’s social and media footprint, and highlights lifesaving programs and initiatives. This position is very hands-on with animals, especially medium to large dogs, in order to create videos and photographs that help save lives.

● Social/Content:
○ Help manage in-person influencer activations
○ Seek out stories to promote the CAC (and across the organization)
○ Gather content to highlight organizational needs:
● Capture engaging video and photo content for LifeLine’s social channels
● Brainstorm and assist with content creation for LifeLine’s TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, and other Social Media platforms.
● Photograph, write and post bios for shelter animals’ online adoption listings.
● Coordinate with shelter departments to develop content that supports adoptions, donations and volunteer activities.
● Work with the marketing team to support and PRomote LifeLine events, programs and initiatives and to get the word out into our community.
● Promote positive conversations, respond to messages, and escalate any concerns.
● Help draft content for flyers and blogs
● Other duties as assigned.
● Media:
○ Help provide monthly PR reporting stats via Meltwater
○ Help assemble press releases, images, and video packages for media requests
○ Help post events and PR articles to website
○ Coordinate media tours, responses, interviews
○ Support and attend news interview segments (morning show coverage, etc.)
○ Provide assistance trafficking assets to media partners
○ Attend events as LifeLine representative/spokesperson
○ Help draft PSAs, blogs and flyer content
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
● Knowledge of photography, videography and content creation
● Must love animals and be comfortable working with large dogs
● DSLR photography and video editing skills
● Customer service experience preferred
● Experience with major Social Media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, X and TikTok
● Professional experience using Social Media for business success is a plus
● Excellent and PRofessional written communication skills
● Flexibility to react to changes in shelter priorities
● Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus
Education and/or Experience:
Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
Language Skills:
Must be able to read and interpret kennel policy guidelines and policies and PRocedures. Must be able to communicate effectively to visitors, coworkers and volunteers and PRovide good customer service when needed.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, employee may be exposed to a kennel that is not air-conditioned and may be exposed to unpleasant kennel smells. May have to handle dogs and cats that are stray, injured, diseased or vicious.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.50 - $19.00 per hour
