Payroll Specialist

As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for our employees. This role requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of accounting principles, and proficiency in payroll software systems.

### Duties:

- Process payroll for employees using payroll software systems such as Workday or Paychex
- Calculate and process employee wages, deductions, and taxes
- Prepare and distribute paychecks or direct deposits
- Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve any issues
- Maintain accurate records of employee attendance, leave, and overtime
- Prepare reports on payroll expenses, taxes, and deductions
- Assist with year-end payroll processes, including W-2 forms and tax filings
- Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll regulations and tax laws

### Skills:

- Strong knowledge of governmental accounting principles and practices
- Ability to analyze financial data and perform complex calculations
- Proficiency in accounting software systems (e.g., QuickBooks)
- Experience with journal entries and general ledger accounting
- Familiarity with payroll software systems (e.g., Workday, Paychex)
- Understanding of payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements
- Knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping principles
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Strong organizational and time management skills
