Job Description
Our client is looking for a Payroll Clerk to come on board immediately for a 4+ month assignment. This position pays 28-30/hr DOE.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Review timecards daily to ensure accuracy and compliance with union agreements.
- Download data from the timekeeping application into Excel spreadsheets after verifying and accepting timesheets for the period.
- Make necessary adjustments to Excel spreadsheets and prepare them for upload.
- Upload payroll data into the accounting system weekly to facilitate paycheck generation.
- Process the Not Paid Report and prepare paycheck sign-off sheets.
- Generate checks and paystubs for employees receiving payment on Wednesday.
- Address off-cycle corrections promptly and efficiently.
- Assist HR by providing termination grids when requested.
- Issue manual checks for off-cycle corrections as necessary.
- Liaise with department supervisors to address any missed time worked.
- Handle expense reimbursements submitted by Craft employees.
- Compile and submit cost code reclassifications bi-weekly.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Business Manager.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 3 years of payroll experience.
- Preferably, prior experience working for a Union Contractor with knowledge of Union Master Labor Agreements.
- Familiarity with prevailing wage laws and experience navigating DIR (Department of Industrial Relations) regulations preferred.
- Intermediate proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Previous experience with JDE preferred.
- Experience with Heavy Job software is advantageous.
- Prior construction payroll experience highly desirable.
