Essential Functions:
- Lead merchant team by setting clear expectations, create accountability for results, and drive standardization and simplification of work where necessary
- Establish long-term strategies and annual/seasonal financial plans. Identify growth opportunities including promotional strategies based on current business needs.
- Partner with Creative Director to understand the season’s product direction, fabrications, and key items.
- Leverage experience to build strong product assortments. Responsibilities include driving units, and revenue, along with the day to day management of suppliers and merchandising.
Qualifications and Competencies:
We encourage candidates with either a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field to apply
5+ years related experience
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence. Able to develop, plan, present and execute strategies
- Mathematical Skills: Clear understanding of retail math, including margin, markup and performance impact on financial results
- Reasoning Ability: Strong analytical and strategic abilities. Ability to manage workflow independently and effectively with minimal direction
Physical Requirements:
- Requires periods of walking, standing, communicating, reaching, crouching and climbing ladders
- Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment, cash register and ability to process register transactions
- Frequently lift/move up to 25lbs
