SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
Reporting directly to the Chrome Hearts Controller, the Payroll Accountant will support the accounting operations related to global payroll accounting for all our factory, distribution, and retail operations across the US and Canada, Asia, and Europe.
The Payroll Accountant’s duties are focused on ensuring accurate and timely delivery of accounting entries surrounding both domestic and international payroll. Duties also include monthly close processes including commissions calculations, financial reporting and reconciliations, upholding internal controls/policies, and assisting with financial and audit reporting responses.
This position is designed to support the continued expansion of Chrome Hearts, requires 3+ years of proven experience, and is expected to work in-person at our HQ complex in Hollywood, CA (this is not a remote work position).
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Understanding of global business payroll accounting including, but not limited to, domestic and international regulations, Foreign Currency (FX), and Tax Compliance.
- Analytical thinker, interested in researching issues and proposing solutions that resolve root cause issues. Experience with database mining tools a plus.
- Effective control execution: assist with maintaining accounting policies and procedures.
- Streamline the overall accounting operations through workflow improvements and automations to accommodate Chrome Hearts’ scale and growth initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare ledger entries with earning, deductions, and employer taxes for multiple domestic and international locations
- Reconcile cash paid out with related payroll processor records
- Negotiate and manage service levels of international payroll processors
- Assists in month end close process, creating and booking journal entries as required for payroll, commissions, accruals, and other related matters.
- Work in conjunction with management on financial analysis related to payroll costs and other related projects as that may arise.
- Assess current practices and procedures, make recommendations and implement best practices.
- Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum 3+ years of professional accounting experience.
- Understanding of US GAAP.
- Excellent Excel skills and knowledge of ERP (Microsoft D365 preferred) or similar financial software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication with all levels of the organization.
- Excellent ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize effectively.
- Desire to continue professional growth through on-the-job training and mentorship.
- Must have a positive attitude, confident demeanor, and be willing to tackle challenging tasks under competing deadlines.
