Seeking full time experienced Legal Administrative Assistant with a focus on superior client service to join a busy, growing law firm. Join a team supporting multiple attorneys across different offices in a collaborative environment in a AMLaw 200 Firm with a small-town feel. We celebrate our accomplishments together and are looking for someone to join the team in our Austin, TX office.
At Butler Snow LLP, the client comes first. We are looking for someone experienced in all areas of Legal Administrative support who understands the importance of accuracy, quality and confidentiality.
Job Functions:
- Draft, revise and proofread legal documents and correspondence
- File legal pleadings (e-filing skills required)
- Maintenance of electronic document management system;
- Maintain Outlook calendars and schedules for multiple attorneys;
- Schedule, coordinate and confirm court dates, appointments and meetings;
- Make travel arrangements;
- Communicate with clients;
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum and Preferred Qualifications
- 6+ years’ experience as legal secretary
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented and continuous learning environment
- Superior technology skills – proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and Outlook); experience with iManage a plus
- Ability to prioritize, organize and manage work load and to take the initiative in handling projects and anticipating what needs to be done
- Work collaboratively and cooperatively with others
- Requires a high degree of professionalism and the ability to exercise good judgment
- Able to work on complex document mark-ups
- Knows lifecycle of a lawsuit and terminology used therein
- Strong knowledge of pleadings including answers, notices, motions, briefs, and discovery
- Working knowledge of the CM/ECF filing procedures
- Knowledge of state and federal court procedures
- Familiar with case management orders and understands calendaring of court ordered deadlines
- Maintain multiple calendars in Outlook with meeting dates and deadlines
- Maintain professional interaction with clients
