Mission:
The Human Resources Generalist is a reliable, positive, and a consistent employee that motivates and supports the team in accordance with the internal practices and regulatory compliance. This role will help coordinate the HR Department with planning, implementing, and maintaining administrative processes, communications, procedures, organization, and documentation. Encourage and exemplify open communication, responsiveness, confidentiality, respect, and fairness with and among employees.
Essential Functions of Role:
  • Supervisory Capacity: No Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Benefits Administration:
    • Assist HR Manager with annual benefit open enrollment.
    • Support with managing and processing employee Leaves of Absences (FMLA/Short Term Disability)
  • Training:
    • Coordinate group trainings for employees and management as requested.
    • Process individual training requests for employees as needed.
    • Manage training records in SuccessFactors and ensure accuracy in data entries and reporting.
  • Recruitment / Retention:
    • Assist the HR Manager with local recruitment and job postings (LinkedIn, Indeed).
    • Coordinate candidate interviews and participate in the selection process as needed.
    • Process initial internal paperwork for new employees including drug and background screenings.
  • Employee Management:
    • Manage new hires, transfers, and terminations.
    • Schedule and conduct new hire orientations as needed.
    • Support social committees (social events and improvement team)
    • Create, distribute, and process new hire and status change notifications as needed.
    • Conduct Exit Interviews when employees voluntarily resign from the company.
    • Assist HR Manager with employee issues when requested.
  • Other Tasks:
    • Assist HR Manager with IATF Audit.
    • Assist HR Manager with the annual budget process.
    • Support with maintaining, auditing, and updating policies and procedures, as needed.
    • Audit internal/external systems regularly to ensure compliance.
    • Send email communications regularly on behalf on the HR Department and other departments as needed.
    • Manage and assist managers in creating job descriptions as needed.
    • Other duties, as assigned and required by HR Department.

  • Employee must have the ability to work additional hours and / or overtime as needed or assigned to complete job duties on time.
  • Ability to multitask, interact politely and professionally with customers, suppliers and vendors, and work cooperatively with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to maintain predictable and regular attendance, arrive to designated location on time, or be at assigned location ready to work for assignment (plant, corporate office, or remote).

What we are looking for:
Educational Requirement: Bachelor's Degree
Area of Study: Human Resources, Organizational Development
(Equivalent work experience may also be considered for certain positions.)
Years of Experience Required:
  • 3 Years of Experience with Human Resources role in manufacturing or corporate setting.
  • 1-2 Years of Experience within the automotive industry preferred.

Required Qualifications:
  • Language Required: English (Fluency with Reading, Writing, Speaking)
  • Language Preferred: Spanish
  • Experience with SAP Preferred
  • Experience tracking HR Metrics, Recruiting, Onboarding
  • Organizational skills, effective oral and written communication, creative thinking, time management, problem solving, project management, works well with all levels of the organization.
  • MS Office (advanced Excel skills)
