Labor Solutions has gained partnerships with multiple industrial manufacturing companies that need our assistance with their hiring needs for their job opportunities. We are in search of an HR Generalist to join their team.
Position Summary:
The HR Generalist will primarily be responsible for providing support to the HR Department by handling the daily HR duties of the organization; Full cycle recruitment, employee relations, training, record maintenance and payroll processing, and provide clerical support to all employees.
Position responsibilities:
- Represent Human Resources department with a positive, customer friendly attitude to all internal and external clients.
- Coordinate staffing for plant personnel, including conducting interviews, through direct hiring efforts utilizing temporary employees as needed
- Manage the company new hire onboarding and powerlift machine training
- Become knowledgeable of union contract and serve as a resource to on the rules and guidelines
- Support managers and supervisors on employee issues
- Support and develop employee engagement activities and programs
- Support and develop employee training and development programs
- Coordinate powerlift equipment training for newly eligible employees and training for existing employees ongoing
- Track and coordinate first aid training to ensure sufficient group of certified employees on various shifts
- Coordinate and support OSHA compliance training
- Assist employees with issues/questions regarding company policies and employee benefits
- Identify employees that have exceeded the attendance occurrence policy, issue warnings at appropriate times per the Union Contract and Company Employee Manual
- Represent company at recruiting events and career fairs
- Process payroll for union and company hourly employees
- Maintain HR and payroll data in HRIS
- Monitor the company call-in line daily to record absenteeism occurrences and communicates with supervisors accordingly
- Process and keep accurate records of employee drug tests
- Keep accurate and up to date FMLA records, communicating regularly with supervisors and employees
- Provide support at company wellness fairs and events
- Perform other duties and undertake special projects as assigned.
Essential skills, experience and education:
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Self-directed and motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
- Proficient with MS Outlook, Excel, Power Point and Word
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Bilingual is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in business, management, logistics or a related field.
- 3 to 5 year's experience - in a manufacturing environment preferred.
HR Certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) a plus.
