Job Description
We are seeking a self-starting HR professional to support our manufacturing operations team . This person will be the primary HR contact and lead company-wide recruiting efforts. Strong communication and conflict resolution skills are required in this role. Must also be a proactive, detail-oriented person who has experience working with various HR and recruiting systems/tools.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Connecting with other team members in HR department to maintain company-wide consistency of policy and programs. Serve as an Generalist within assigned location/s to regularly assess the work culture; implement programs; encourage open communication, diversity, and actions that attract talent, enhance employee engagement and retention; ensure compliance with employment laws; advise or assist supervisors and managers on employee related issues. This person will also recruit for company-wide vacancies, which includes responsibility for the posting process; is the main point of contact for all parties throughout the collaborative hiring process; attract and source candidates; pre-screen and present qualified job candidates to the hiring managers. May also perform a variety of administrative duties including tracking data, reports, and recordkeeping.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Others as assigned.
Generalist:
- Partners with Plant/Division Manager as the onsite HR Generalist advising on employee and community relation issues.
- Support all employees on varying shifts on employee related issues.
- Facilitate conflict management.
- Supports manufacturing function in coordinating and providing proper staffing and recruiting.
- Assists with labor tracking and reporting, recruiting, and screening for all open positions.
- Maintains New Employee programs and conducts/coordinates New Hire and Benefit Orientations and other training as needed.
- Handles onboarding/off-boarding of employees, includes unemployment claims filings and attends hearings.
- Training Program - Admin Support
- Oversee the daily maintenance of the corporate or required training programs.
- Coordinate schedules and maintain ongoing RFC education courses, teaching if necessary.
- HR Administrative Support
- Processes appropriate forms. i.e., payroll, benefits, safety, training, performance reviews, etc.
- Responsible for set-up/preparing company communication meetings; local or corporate.
- Assists in planning and organizing company events in coordination with corporate initiatives.
Corporate Recruiter:
- Develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process (i.e., prepares job postings, conducts group interview presentations and testing, candidate background screenings, new hire paperwork, job fairs, etc.).
- Serves as administrator of HR recruiting software (i.e. HR System, voestalpine systems- FABIS)
- Finds qualified candidates for a job opening and works to meet the demands of both the employer and the employee throughout the hiring process.
- Meeting with the hiring manager after the organization opens new job requisition.
- Train hiring managers on interviewing techniques and keep them on track throughout the hiring process.
- Serving as the employee brand representative, while internally and externally networking and soliciting candidates. Focus on building relationships with candidates and hiring managers. Promoting employee referrals.
- Works closely with HR Generalists in responsible areas to complete interview, job offers and onboarding processes.
- Recommends and implements effective assessment methods that help evaluate candidates.
- Tracks Mentorship program through onboarding and recommend improvements needed.
- Completes administrative duties related to hiring, electronic files, applicants, reports for affirmative action planning.
- Maintains temporary agency process, being a contact, communicating requisitions, setting up temporary workers in HRIS systems, processing invoices. Maintains close contact with Temporary/Contract service providers to ensure quality service levels are achieved.
Other Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- HR projects as assigned.
- Assists employees with FAQs and benefit-related questions, remaining HIPAA compliant.
- Maintains confidentiality.
Schedule: This position is overtime-exempt and will primarily workeight or more hours per day, five days per week based on business needs.
This position is an onsite position; persons must be in a commutable distance to our plants in Shelbyville, KY. This position is not eligible for Visa Sponsorship.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent education and training.
- At least two years’ experience as a recruiter or similar role.
- Possesses strong conflict-resolution and communication skills.
- Highly proficient in Office software: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook and ability to learn software tools. Experience must also include hands-on experience with HR software and recruiting tools.
- Organized individual who possesses ability to successfully complete work and ensure follow-through on projects. Experienced working with regular interruptions.
- This is an onsite role and candidate must live in commutable distance to Shelbyville, KY with ability to travel to other locations as needed. Must possess valid driver’s license (insurable with good driving record).
- US Person as defined by ITAR/EAR
Preferred:
- Experience in HR Department with supporting manufacturing operations or similar.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now
- SHRM or HRCI certification
