Purpose: The Senior HR Generalist Level 2 is responsible for supporting the strategic objectives of the HR Department and is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the human resource function. This includes but not limited to, policy interpretation, benefits, compensation, staffing and recruitment, HRIS, payroll, training/development, continuous improvement, program/policy creation and implementation and team member relations. This role reports directly to the Director of Human Resources.

  1. Partners with the key members of the organization on Human Resource related issues, including but not limited to, talent acquisition and development, onboarding, compliance, retention, performance management and culture.
  2. Facilitates and communicates organizational policies to ensure regulatory and labor law compliance.
  3. Actively mentors management and HR Generalist(s) on the effective administration of policy and potential outcomes/resolution of human resource-related issues.
  4. Develop, refine, improve and implement human resources policies, programs and procedures
  5. Oversee HR Generalist training and development
  6. Work with the leadership team to identify, develop and implement training initiatives that support the brand, culture and philosophy
  7. Oversee company-wide recruitment activities including management of candidate database, pipeline, sourcing, screening, interviewing and partnering with hiring managers. Works with the head of Human Resources to coordinate and extend job offers
  8. Ensures job descriptions are up to date and in compliance with FLSA regulations and advises on necessary changes.
  9. Oversees FMLA, ADAAA and Worker’s Compensation administration.
  10. Remain up to date on all employment laws and regulations related to federal and state employment laws.
  11. Provide understanding and ensure legal compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations as well as corporate policies and/or guidelines
  12. Assists with and conducts investigations.
  13. Completes special projects; creates project plans, conducts research, develops and organizes research and presents information. Conducts exempt team member orientation and ensures management completion of onboarding plans
  14. Partners with the Payroll Department to ensure consistent and accurate administration of company pay and benefit policies. Work in tandem with the Director of Human Resources to source, select and implement annual benefit offerings and wellness program initiatives.
  15. Assist with annual wage review and recommendations.
  16. Serve as Document Control Coordinator for HR Department.
  17. All HR Generalist duties, including but not limited to, team member relations, benefits administration, staffing, HRIS administration and FMLA.
  18. Serve as backup support for HR Generalist at the plant level.
  19. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Analytical Ability:
Strong aptitude for problem-solving. Ability to manage multiple priorities, results-oriented and strong attention to detail.

Communication Ability:
Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Computer Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Education and Competencies:
College Degree, Human Resource or related discipline, required PHR, SPHR or SHRM-CP certification, preferred. Experience in labor relations preferred. The ability to manage administrative functions is a must.

Experience:
4-6 years of Human Resources experience, with manufacturing and multi-site experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit, stand, and walk up to 8-10 hours a day and have the ability to work in a manufacturing environment. Ability to type and work on a computer for up to 8 hours a day. Able to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally. Ability to travel 30% and more if needed based on business needs.
