POSITION TITLE: HR GENERALIST
REPORTS TO: Human Resources Director
FSLA: Exempt
Rate: $28.00
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The HR Generalist plays an integral role in maintaining the culture by consistently applying human resource practice and policy. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruitment, benefits administration, employee relations, training, onboarding, and policy implementation.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recruits, screens, and interviews job applicants to match experience with specific job-related requirements.
- Must attend all recruitment activities, including career fairs and networking events in the NKY area.
- Assist in creating a recruitment plan and calendar according to agency needs.
- Generating official internal documents such as offer letters.
- Assist in creating onboarding plans and educating newly hired employees on HR policies, internal procedures, and regulations.
- Assist with benefits administration management (enrollment, changes, responding to questions, etc.) Participates in the Wellness and Safety Committee.
- Back up to process payroll
- Assist with new employee orientations, preparing and processing new hire paperwork, and filing employee paperwork.
- Assist in tracking annual performance evaluations.
- Provide support for employee functions and Company events.
- Other duties as required and assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate degree, preferably in human resources or business (or related experience)
- Ideally, 3 to 5 years of Human Resources experience, including recruiting.
- Professional accreditation (PHR or similar) desired
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills
- Advanced knowledge of productivity software, database management, and Internet search methods
- Ability to effectively communicate and relate with all levels in the organization.
- Familiarity with job boards and computer systems designed specifically for HR.
- Must have the ability to maintain complete confidentiality of all employee information.
- Proven success in conducting interviews using various methods (phone, video, email, in-person)
- Good understanding of technology and its use to improve business processes.
- Strong computer skills – including proficiency with Word, PowerPoint & Excel
