Eligible for one day of telework following successful completion of probationary period and approval of supervisor.
This position provides general administrative support to the Office of Human Resources, including front-line assistance, records management, employment verification (written, verbal, and meeting with investigators), researching, routing correspondence; drafting letters and documents; collecting and analyzing information, HR mail, and general clerical duties.
Duties and Tasks:
- Maintain and manage Human Resources records, including official employee records (paper and electronic), and other personnel related records.
- Retain and destroy records in accordance with established policies and procedures; maintaining the integrity of the HR records; collect organizing and filing documents into the filing systems; review and scan documents into an electronic database; index scanned documents; and review previously scanned records for image quality assurance and data accuracy.
- Assist with labor law poster compliance, internal audits and HR procurement.
- Assist with budget and travel expense reimbursement.
- Maintain and update NOVA HR’s webpage and NOVAnet page.
- Provide prompt, professional, and courteous service to all customers.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of Human Resources functions and procedures.
- Proficient in computer applications, including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Outlook.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in written and oral formats.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively with co-workers, colleagues across the College and general public.
