SUMMARY
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for all aspects of payroll processing through our ERP system, from timecard processing through the GL accounting process. Responsibility will include semi-monthly payroll processing in a school environment, processing of supplemental pay, assisting staff with payroll questions, and working with internal stakeholders on matters of payroll and benefits.
DUTIES
- Processes semi-monthly payroll for exempt and non-exempt personnel in an assigned group.
- Audit and balance payroll prior to posting. Ensure proper documentation is present/retained.
- Processes reports to analyze payroll data for integrity.
- Assist employees with questions about their wages, taxes and/or deductions maintaining state and federal compliance.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local jurisdiction payroll regulations and guidelines.
- Process payments for Payroll liabilities and reconcile any discrepancies.
- Assist, report, and maintain pension retirement payments for staff.
- Provide support to internal departments on topics related to benefits, payroll, time and attendance, record keeping policies and procedures.
- Assist Payroll Manager with any additional assignments within Payroll
QUALIFICATIONS
- Position requires high school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of previous experience processing payroll within an HRIS system.
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to communicate and work well with others is essential.
- A high level of computer literacy, including knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and HR/Payroll systems.
- Basic knowledge of compensation, benefits, and tax regulations concerning payroll.
- Must be able to see, hear and speak clearly, be able to type for extended periods, and be able to stand for 30-minute periods and lift and move 40 pounds on a regular basis
COMPENSATION:
Fully Board Paid Medical, Dental, and Vision available.
Per the 2023-2024 Administrative Assistant (Educational Office Personnel) Salary Schedule, Lane B, the starting pay range is $18.30-$20.50 and is based upon experience.
