We are seeking to add a part-time HR Generalist to our team in Danbury! The HR Generalist will facilitate the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including recruitment, hiring and interviewing staff, administering benefits and leave, onboarding new employees, and enforcing company policies and best practices. This role is heavily focused on benefits administration and payroll.
Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Administers all employee benefit programs such as medical, dental, vision, disability, retirement programs (Defined Contribution 401(k) & Defined Benefit Plans)
- Process retirement notifications, workers compensation and life insurance claims
- Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities
- Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA.
- Makes recommendations to payroll employee leave related policies.
- Properly record, track and administer the steps needed to comply with COBRA law and appropriately deliver continuation of employee benefits.
- Responsible for timely, accurately and compliantly processing Dental Associates of Connecticut & DAC NewCo DSO’s bi-weekly payrolls
- Provides training as needed (i.e. Managers, staff) to ensure compliance and utilization of tools.
- Audit and process payroll documents
- Process employee data for new hires, changes, additional earnings, etc.
- Processes employee Time & Attendance data to payroll and reconcile variances.
- Approve and release time in the time system.
- Prepares and maintains employee files, assuring accuracy, compliance and confidentiality.
- Maintains vacation and sick time records.
- Develops in depth understanding of payroll software and HRIS
- Assists employees in registering for or resetting access to online portals.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; and training and development.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- At least two years of human resource management experience is required.
- Knowledge of human resource laws and regulations. Knowledge of payroll administration. Knowledge of benefits programs including health insurance, long-term disability programs, workers’ compensation insurance, unemployment regulations, life insurance, 401k & Defined Benefit plans, COBRA, etc. Understanding of human resource policies and programs. Thorough knowledge of state and federal regulations related to benefits administration.
- SHRM-CP Credential a plus.
