The Human Resource Generalist will assist with the daily administrative functions of Superior's Human Resource (HR) department including employee customer service, recruitment, internal reporting, filing, onboarding and offboarding employees, benefits and leave administration, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Responsibilities:
- Recruitment activity will include daily review of job applicants, creating job postings, updating job descriptions, conducting initial phone screens, scheduling interviews, preparing job offers and collaborating with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
- Review employee timesheets for accuracy and obtain manager approvals prior to payroll processing.
- Process background checks via third-party vendor and conduct reference checks.
- Schedule and conduct new hire orientation and verify I9 documentation.
- Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
At least one year of experience in an HR role required.
Must have familiarity and experience with HRIS and applicant tracking systems, preferably ADP Workforce Now
