Uptown Rental Properties is looking for a Construction Assistant to join us in fulfilling these core values through our work!
The Construction Assistant works hand-in-hand with the Superintendent, Field Supervisor, Subcontractors and additional members of on-site teams to ensure successful completion of projects within the expected timeline, budget and quality
Location:
The Construction Assistantwill begin their day at one of our Clifton properties. They will use a company vehicle to travel to job sites throughout the Greater Cincinnati and/or Northern Kentucky areas. They will return the company vehicle to the property in Clifton at the end of each day.
Schedule:
Full-time
Monday-Friday: 8:30 am-5 pm*
*Half hour lunch break
Compensation:
$18-$23/hr

Construction Assistant Requirements:
- Construction experience a plus!
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Construction experience a plus!
- Knowledge of and ability to use tools
- Time management expertise
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to meet physical requirements:
- The position is considered to have moderate to heavy physical demands. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to climb up to nine feet on ladders, work in overhead structures, walk, stand, twist, stoop, bend, squat, and kneel at least 90% of the workday. The employee will occasionally be required to lift, carry and/or move in excess of 100 pounds and frequently be required to lift, carry and/or move in excess of 50 pounds during the normal course of a workday.
The Construction Assistant will:
- Review daily assigned tasks with the Superintendent to ensure their timely completion, requesting support with materials, equipment and other resources as needed
- Support projects by receiving and staging materials, and on occasion purchasing and picking up materials.
- Assist Subcontractors in the completion of assigned tasks that require heavy lifting support and larger clean out projects when assigned
- Communicate with the Field Supervisor about any issues experienced in work order completion
- Communicate all resident violations to the Field Supervisor as necessary
- Order labor services as necessary to complete larger clean-up and material delivery tasks
- Accompany preferred vendors into occupied residential properties during work order completion
- Order and collect essential materials for efficient completion of assigned projects
- Ensure the professional use of all assigned Uptown Rental Properties’ resources and materials
- Partner with Superintendent to manage deliveries, inventory and clean up in order to facilitate accurate and timely communication and project completion
- Interact with internal and external safety personnel to ensure compliance with all safety requirements.
- Address safety concerns, notifies and escalates any safety issues to Superintendent.
- Confer with Superintendent on communications issues or conflicts that cannot be immediately resolved.
- Work alongside field staff in the daily completion of tasks associated with project completion
- Acquire a working knowledge of equipment and tool purpose, use, and operation in order to instruct personnel and to provide direct application of skills to project as needed
- Participate in daily meetings to discuss priorities, debrief, or anticipate production or personnel issues, schedules, deadlines, or other matters needing attention
