This is a full-time position, the salary range is $38,000 - $45,000 based on experience.
The Bookkeeper works closely with the Franchisee to help support financial operations by performing accounting services related to preparing, analyzing, maintaining, and reviewing various financial statements, records and reports at the franchise utilizing Xero software.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
- Daily accounts receivable processing; receipting customer payments and building deposits in Xero
- Accounts receivable collection efforts
- Daily accounts payable processing; review vendor invoices/check requests for accuracy, record in Xero
- Process check runs for vendor payments
- Corporate credit card(s); match receipts to statement and review for business purpose, import transactions into Xero
- Management of Payroll
- Enter and process payroll
- Assist with human resources management in conjunction with Home Office and/or outside counsel
- Manage employee payroll files
- Contact Management and Vendor Relations
- Review vendors and track metrics/standards
- Month End
- Perform month end close, including month end folder with supporting schedules for all reconciliations, etc.
- Monthly reconciliation of all sub-ledgers (cash, AR, AP, Fixed Assets, etc.)
- Monthly reconciliation of trial balance with support schedules/documentation
- Monthly Financial Review and Analysis
- Responsible for analysis of financial statements including trends and variances
- Responsible for communications regarding financial statement results, as well as participation in meetings and discussions as to results
- Budget
- Create, maintain, and communicate budget
- Responsible for monthly analysis of budget to actual results and corresponding communication
- Responsible for working with various departments on budget results and plans
- Bank Transactions
- Monitor daily bank transactions
- Complete monthly bank and credit card statement reconciliations in Xero
- Process and Policy Management
- Assist in the development of programs and processes for the franchise in conjunction with results and goals of the franchise
- Additional Monthly Tasks
- Review and monitor tax return filings, payments, and correspondence
- Coordinate with outside accounting firm as needed
- Report on tax status regularly
- All other duties as assigned by the General Manager or Franchisee
REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of an associate degree in accounting, business or finance is required, or combination of education and experience
- Basic knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and financial accounting standards
- Strong knowledge of general ledger and related accounting systems
- Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently.
- Successful problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
- Familiarity with accounting/bookkeeping software (Xero, QuickBooks)
