Find your place in finance on #TeamAmex.How will you make an impact in this role?The Global Record to Report organization is part of the Global Controllership organization and is responsible for end-to-end accounting operations, financial reporting quality and assurance and US regulatory reporting. The US Regulatory reporting team is responsible for managing and delivering key regulatory reporting filings for American Express. This individual will primarily be responsible for helping implement a Regulatory Reporting Interpretive Office as well as Change Management framework through close partnership across Controllership and multiple other groups within American Express. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Support design, governance, and establishment of the Regulatory Reporting Interpretive Office. Collaborating with colleagues across groups within American Express to create a forum responsible for issuing interpretive guidance. Establishing well-defined mechanisms to discuss and coalesce around an official firm interpretation of complex regulations. Tracking, monitoring, and actioning complex regulatory reporting changes. Formalization of Change Managementframework for both for internal and external changes, inclusive of continuous monitoring. Develop policy, governance, and process to monitor and perform applicability and impact assessments, implementation, and validation of regulatory changes. Accurate interpretation and documentation of reporting instructions to ensure reporting requirements and appropriate data elements are captured and adhered to. Work closely, coordinate, and collaborate with various Subject Matter Experts and Regulatory Reporting leaders in the review and production of regulatory reports. Assist in formulating responses to inquiries from the Federal Reserve and key internal stakeholders, while supporting our strong working relationships and communication with the various regulators. Contribute to driving continuous process improvements, increase level of automation, strengthen controls, and enhance process documentation. Collaborate across teams to drive consistency in reporting. Support/lead special projects including partnering with American Express Technologies on key automation initiatives and enhancing policies and procedures around the regulatory reporting process. Provide leadership to Financial Analysts and Managers in the Regulatory Reporting team. Provide career development opportunities for Regulatory Reporting team members. Flexibility to work a hybrid schedule. Minimum Qualifications 10+ years of experience in Accounting / Reporting / Auditing. Experience working in financial services or other highly regulated environment. Strong understanding of U.S. Regulatory and U.S. GAAP requirements. A self-starter, proactive team player with a passion to consistently deliver high quality service and exceed customers' expectations. Ability to lead, coach, develop and promote talent. A quick learner with superior problem-solving skills, who is focused on generating efficiencies and continuous process improvements. Ability to manage multiple priorities, drive projects, and work well under tight deadlines. Strong written/oral communication, relationship building, presentation and collaboration skills. Proven ability to effectively interact with all levels and stakeholders of an organization including senior leadership/officers, as well as with external regulators and auditors.Preferred QualificationsGraduate degree, CPA/Chartered Accountant or similar qualification, preferred. Prior Regulatory/Federal Reserve/SEC/External Reporting and banking/financial services experience preferred.Non-considerations for sponsorship:Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.QualificationsSalary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefitsThe above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
