```Duties```
- Maintain and balance general ledger accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies.
- Provide financial status information by preparing special reports; completing special projects.
- Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Maintain accounting controls by following policies and procedures; complying with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.
- Assist with the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Assist with the preparation of year-end audit schedules and work papers.
```Requirements```
- Proven bookkeeping experience.
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in using accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks).
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience with account reconciliation and analysis.
- Familiarity with accounts payable processes.
- Previous experience in public accounting is a plus.
