Role:
The AVP, Product Management is responsible for leading a team of product professionals in defining, managing, and iterating on the credit union's portfolio of products, including deposit, card and lending offerings; money movement products; self-service digital and assisted service banking platforms; account opening and onboarding products; and service delivery channels. Through their team, this leader will develop product strategy; build and maintain product roadmaps; establish go-to-market plans; and drive operational process improvement. As a leader of semi-autonomous and highly capable individual contributors, this supervisor must be able to lead through influence and excel at providing organizational context. The individual in this role will also work closely with counterparts across the credit union towards furthering an agile and cross-functional approach between their teams to develop, launch, and manage digital-first products. A trusted thought partner to senior leadership, this executive will advise on organizational strategy, as it relates to product innovation, research, and development.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Work involves extensive communication including, but not limited to, verbal, written and electronic, interaction, and collaboration with people on a daily basis.
20% Lead a team of Product Managers in the development and management of product and feature roadmaps, ensuring that vision and strategy are based on consumer feedback and research from CX, technical architecture from IT, performance considerations from Operations, profitability analysis from Finance, and market opportunity inputs from Revenue and Growth.
20% Ensure Product Managers have a thorough understanding of organizational strategy and general big-picture context to aid them in maintaining and cross-prioritizing value-focused product backlogs across their individual areas of scope.
15% Build and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the credit union, providing intellectual leadership and guidance regarding product roadmaps, vision, and priorities, presenting quantifiable business case and clear, iterative plans as necessary.
10% Foster a positive and engaging work environment for each direct report by promoting skill development, coaching for improvement and growth, clearing roadblocks and by inspiring others, through words, actions and behavior, to live our mission, vision, and core values.
10% Remain current on product, feature, and technology trends across consumer banking products, including deposit, card and loan offerings; money movement products; self-service digital and assisted service banking platforms; account opening and onboarding products; and service delivery channels, including telephony, email, chat and text, to recommend proactive strategies for product improvement, automation and efficiency.
10% Develop objectives and key results (OKRs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) for products in the credit unions portfolio, monitoring and evaluating our products' abilities to meet consumer needs, drive mission impact, and generate a positive return on investment.
10% Own and manage relationships with vendors and third-party resources that support the product portfolio, evaluating features and opportunities, determining fit to strategy, handling contract negotiations and renewals, and establishing service level agreements.
5% Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications:
  • 5-10 years of similar or related experience
  • Bachelor's degree required or a minimum of 4 years directly related experience
  • General knowledge of consumer banking products, across deposits, cards and lending.
  • Proficient in MS office suite of products.
  • Proficient in Jira and other Atlassian tools.
  • Self-motivated; proactively takes the initiative to accomplish necessary tasks and seize new and often challenging opportunities.
  • Possess and exhibit excellent analytical, prioritization and time management skills.
