Assistant Product Manager

Position Summary:
The Assistant Product Manager will direct and coordinate activities in support of the Manager they are assigned to work with. They will investigate new product ideas in terms of market potential and development. Serves as a technical advisor on all matters of designated products. They are the back up to the Product Manager in answering questions from sales and operations.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research.
  • Help Product Management develop and create product specifications.
  • Engage in continuous and thorough end user research to ensure that customer needs are identified, and products are developed that meet the specific needs of the end user.
  • Represent Sig Sauer as the product expert at industry and corporate events while providing product and training support for onsite/offsite events involving product use, sales, and handling of new and current items.
  • Certified in full Agile functions in order to implement training, Document/SKU creation, and Maintenance of all things related to product line within the workflow.
  • Legal approval chain responsible for Source Control Documents, Compliance Approval & Transfer of Documents.
  • Responsible for presenting revisions to any sales or marketing documents or website details to correct channels for approval and correction implementation.
  • Assist the PM and Project MGMT in developing and delivering product roadmap plans.
  • Direct operations support for life cycle MGMT as well as SKU and BOM creation.
  • Direct operations support for parts and accessory creation.
  • Work with engineering and R&D to track and monitor the development of new products in line with the product spec.
  • Ability to Travel
  • Ownership of part service/support across respective lines

  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Business discipline preferred but not required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of directly related experience in the firearms environment.
  • Experience with Industry product.
  • Military background preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Emphasis on Excel, Outlook, and Word).
  • 2+ years’ experience working in PLM system highly desirable.
Working Conditions:
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which is required in designated areas.
