Are you a dedicated and experienced paralegal who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic legal environment? We are actively seeking a Permanent Assistant Paralegal to join our esteemed legal firm. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a highly professional team, working on complex legal matters. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting our lead paralegal and attorneys in all aspects of case preparation and management, from inception through discovery to resolution.
Responsibilities:
As an Assistant Paralegal, you will be expected to:
1. Assist the lead paralegal in managing overall caseload, including maintaining case files, tracking deadlines, and ensuring all necessary documentation is readily accessible.
2. Review, analyze, and summarize a broad range of documents, including discovery responses and other legal materials.
3. Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents for court proceedings under the supervision of our legal team.
4. Coordinate and correspond with clients, experts, and opposing counsel, ensuring all communications are handled professionally and promptly.
5. Conduct extensive legal research using tools such as LexisNexis, and provide comprehensive, accurate reports to support case development.
6. Assist in the preparation of subpoenas and manage the process of serving them.
7. Work on personal injury cases, gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and preparing case summaries.
8. Support the team in civil litigation cases, including assisting in trial preparation, document management, and other pre-trial tasks.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Assistant Paralegal position should possess:
1. A California Paralegal Certificate.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience as an Assistant Paralegal or Paralegal, preferably in civil litigation and personal injury law.
3. Proficiency in coding and summarizing complex legal documents.
4. Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
5. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
6. Proficiency in using legal research tools such as LexisNexis.
7. A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
8. A high level of professionalism and discretion when dealing with confidential information.
9. A commitment to maintaining high standards of client service and ethics.
