Growth Opportunity Center (GOC) is seeking a detail and service oriented professional to assist in the administration of a busy behavioral health outpatient practice in Southampton, Bucks County. GOC is a non-profit organization with 50 years’ service to the community, whose mission is transforming life’s challenges into opportunities for growth.
Job Summary: The Administrative Assistant supports Growth Opportunity Center to ensure efficient operations of the front office through a variety of clerical and administrative tasks. The Administrative Assistant works closely with the Administrative Supervisor and Business Office Manager to promote positive customer service experience and to support clinical service providers.
Communication: Good verbal communication skills are required for this position. The person in this position must be able to communicate effectively with the clients/patients, staff, and stakeholders; and contribute to a positive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answers phone and greets clients/patients presenting for care. Responds to questions and provides information consistent with program operations.
- Prioritizes exceptional customer service at all times to ensure clients/patients are treated with the highest standard of professionalism.
- Reviews and verifies insurance coverage determining financial responsibility for upcoming appointments.
- Schedules provider appointments, including missed visits and makes reminder calls as necessary.
- Collects copays, deductibles, and other client payments. Documents and submits payments according to procedure. Provides receipts to clients/patients.
- Communicates regularly with providers to ensure an efficient flow of information related to patient care.
- Updates client/patient charts with current information.
- Completes other administrative tasks including mailing, faxing, and filing.
- Utilizes electronic health record and other organizational database systems.
- Performs other administrative duties as needed or assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED
- Prior experience with medical and/or behavioral health office operations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and Electronic Medical Records
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and functions
- Ability to take initiative, accept direction, and seek guidance as needed
- Adaptability, dependability, and good judgement
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
Clearances:
- Background checks are required at hire and updated every 5 years, including PA Criminal Background Clearance, PA Child Abuse Clearance, and FBI Clearance.
Physical Requirements:
- The ability to sit for extended periods of time
- The ability to communicate using written and spoken words
- Must demonstrate auditory acuity
- Although GOC is not currently mandating that employees be vaccinated against COVID-19, it is likely/possible that this will be a requirement in the future, subject to legally required exemptions.
