POSITION OVERVIEW
Join an exciting company that is quickly growing! The AP specialist position is a vital role within the accounting department that is responsible for processing vendor invoices accurately and timely. The AP specialist will maintain the AP inbox and respond to vendor inquiries daily. This role will work closely with management on weekly payment processing and effectively communicate invoice issues within the organization. It also requires the ability to use Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Dynamics Business Central to manage, track, and post AP data.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The AP Specialist is responsible for:
- Process and post vendor invoices in Microsoft Dynamics Business Central for 3 companies.
- Utilize 3-way matching for PO invoices for 3 companies.
- In charge of preparing and processing weekly payment runs for 3 companies.
- Review and respond to vendor account statements.
- Maintain vendor invoice inbox and respond to AP inquiries timely.
- Must understand and calculate sales tax in accordance with local jurisdictions along with accruing use tax when appropriate.
- Maintain vendor table within Business Central.
- Maintain AP tracker issue in excel and effectively communicate issues within the organization.
- Maintain W-9’s and preparing annual 1099’s.
- Assist with month end tasks such as reconciling the AP aging report to the GL and accruing monthly AP after the cutoff date.
- Will be essential in helping management transition from paper checks to digital payments.
- Backup coverage for front desk.
- All other duties as assigned by manager.
QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES
ESSENTIAL
DESIRABLE
High school diploma or GED.
Microsoft Dynamics Business Central experience.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in an AP role.
Experience with sales tax and use tax across different states.
Experience with the chart of accounts and 3-way matching
AP experience in a fast paced, growing environment that processes high volumes of invoices.
Experience in a manufacturing environment that uses job costing.
Intermediate Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables).
Excellent communication skills and great attention to detail.
Trustworthy with attention to confidential information.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Position requires use of computer, telephones, and other office equipment, reading, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity.
- Position occasionally requires ability to work in a manufacturing environment and boats from the beginning of production through the sea trails. This includes mobility to work in and around incomplete aluminum hull structures.
- Ability to lift packages, equipment, etcetera, up to 50 lbs.

RELATIONSHIPS
This role requires a good relationship with the individuals and teams across the Production and Project delivery organizations to ensure Birdon achieves the safe completion of the agreed work, in the time required.
