Accounts Payable Clerk

As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will work closely with a supportive and dedicated team to ensure the smooth operation of our financial processes. Your role is crucial in helping us maintain strong vendor relationships and uphold our commitment to excellence.

Under general supervision of the CFO, this position directs and conducts the general accounting functions of Accounts Payable, general ledger, cash receipts, bank deposits, and the publishing of financial and statistical information.

Essential Functions:

• Processes vendor invoices using the CPSI Accounts Payable system.
• Records journal entries in the general ledger.
• Prepares bank deposits.
• Completes monthly and year end general ledger closing procedures.
• Prepares 1099 IRS forms annually.
• Maintain vendor files and W-9s.
• Assist in monthly finance and accounting dashboards/reporting.
• Assists with check runs and account reconciliations.
• Handle sensitive and/or confidential material and information appropriately, with good judgement and discretion.
• Maintains files for unpaid invoices, paid invoices, general accounting files, such as fixed assets, prepaid expenses, contracts, and general correspondence.
• Works with auditors to facilitate completion of audits.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
• Ability to possess a working knowledge of computer systems and minor systems maintenance, microcomputers, and electronic spreadsheet concepts.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Must be able to research, problem solve and identify solutions.
• Must be a team player and able to work with other individuals in and outside the department (at various levels) in a positive manner.

Education Certification

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• College degree in accounting preferred.

Experience

• One-to-three-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
