About the Role:
We are searching for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our Accounting team at our HQ office in Elmsford, NY and be responsible for the following:
- Process and handle Accounts Payable for the company including separate entities and vendors
- Ensure all bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner
- Process transactions and perform account maintenance, record entries, and reconcile account books
- Research and resolve a variety of routine internal and external inquiries concerning account status, including communicating the resolution of discrepancies to appropriate parties
- Record and deposit accounts receivable payments into the management company’s bank accounts
- Vendor management: including new vendor setup and regular vendor maintenance
- Act as the administrator of the Nexus software
- Assist with monthly status reports, accruals, and the monthly closing process
- Provide supporting documentation for year-end audits
- Review employee travel and entertainment expenses through Concur and record entries to the General Ledger
- Maintain entity income tax payment tracking schedules
- Prepare monthly sales tax and quarterly income tax payments & correspondence
- Prepare year-end 1099s
- Assist with ad-hoc projects, as needed
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor's in Accounting
- 1 to 3 years of experience in a small or medium sized accounting firm with Accounts Payable or bookkeeping experience
- Knowledge of relevant accounting software. MRI, Nexus (or similar) knowledge a plus
- Detail oriented, strong analytical skills, and highly organized with the ability to multitask
- Strong decision-making ability
- Strong work ethic and sense of responsibility
- Robust communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and meet applicable deadlines
- Proficient in Excel

The expected salary range for this position is between $60,000 and $65,000. The actual compensation will be based on factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, market and business considerations and other factors permitted by law.
