Technical Project Manager

The Technical Project Manager (TPM) serves an integral part of both interoffice and client/vendor communications and engineering operations; providing clients with prompt replies, attention and precise technical answers, while also pushing clients to provide requested assets and information. Internally, the TPM supports the Engineering Team, CTO and CEO by proactively completing tasks, and being cognizant of how they can help improve communication and process. Managing sprints, timelines, organization and communication are the full time focus of SM2’s TPM. This position requires both technical knowledge and the ability to communicate with clients.

TPM SKILLS

• Pulling from past experience in software and/or web app project management.
• Advanced knowledge of Project Management Systems (Jira) in order to provide engineers with accurate and actionable requests.
• Taking ownership of complicated development projects from beginning to end, and ensuring they stay on track.
• Having an understanding of the technology being used and why it is being used, in order to provide confident and accurate information.
• Recognizing opportunities to increase productivity and willingness to share ideas, take initiative and risks to improve SM2’s processes.

CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP SKILLS

• Supporting our engineers by managing client expectations regarding deliverables, budgets and timeframe.
• Responding to clients with informed and helpful next steps and answers. Providing tactful, well-timed and informed pushback on clients when needed.
• Learning the technology and the needs of the engineers in order to ask the right questions and gather the required assets and information.
• Recognizing opportunities for upsells and new projects.
• Ability to collect clear notes and write documentation to be used by engineers and clients.

Pay: $92,450.00 - $128,550.00 per year
