Summary of Position:
The AP Supervisor will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing the Accounts Payable processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with industry regulations. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Accounts Payable management, a deep understanding of Oil & Gas accounting practices, and the ability to lead a dedicated team in a fast-paced environment.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as a resource and liaison internally with other departments and externally with vendors
- Develop effective relationships between the AP team and field personnel
- Identify and help implement opportunities for process improvement and efficiency
- Oversee time-sensitive and/or high visibility payments to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Manage Open Invoice as invoice admin
- Oversee the end-to-end AP process, from invoice receipt to payment
- Conduct regular quality checks on processed invoices and payments
- Address errors or discrepancies promptly and implement corrective measures
- Performs other duties as required to support Accounting Department and Field Staff
- Follow safe operating practices and ensure compliance with CIVI Environment, Safety & Regulatory requirements
- Assure work performed adheres to CIVI standards
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:
- Strong analytical, decision making and problem solving skills
- Strong organization, prioritization, time management and attention to detail skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be detail oriented, organized, accurate and have the ability to multi-task
- Effective leadership skills with ability to provide work direction and training
- Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including SOX compliance
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office with strong spreadsheet modeling skills
- Must be a self-starter - able to identify work that needs to be done and do it without being instructed
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Set clear expectations, goals, and priorities for team members
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment
- Conduct regular performance evaluations for team members
- Identify training needs and provide professional development opportunities
- Mentor and coach team members to enhance their skills and capabilities
- Train new team members on AP process, systems, and company policies
Education & Experience:
- AA degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- 7-10 years’ experience directly related to AP and accounting procedures/processes required.
- 3-5 years supervisory experience preferred.
Travel Requirements:
- Work is performed at a CIVI location Tues-Thurs with an option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
- Schedule: traditional 40-hour workweek or alternative schedule of 9 hour works days M-Thurs and 4-hour workdays Friday.
- Travel required to the Civitas field locations.
