Senior Associate Scientist

What you will do
Let's do this. Let's change the world. We are seeking a highly motivated and scientifically rigorous in vivo pharmacologist to join the Cardiometabolic Research group. In this vital role, you will support pre-clinical development by evaluating therapeutic candidates in animal models of metabolic diseases.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform animal husbandry duties
  • Perform administrations via IP, IM, SC, and IV routes
  • Perform blood collection via tail venipuncture and retro-orbital routes
  • Blood sampling and analysis of plasma chemistries and circulating hormones
  • Perform necropsy, tissue collection, and processing
  • Keep meticulous records of research activities and experimental details
  • Prepare, review, and deliver scientific presentations for internal or external use

Basic Qualifications:
  • Master's degree OR
  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of scientific experience OR
  • Associate's degree and 4 years of scientific experience OR
  • High school diploma or GED and 6 years of scientific experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • BS/MS in Biology, Physiology, or related disciplines.
  • 5+ years of experience in executing preclinical in vivo studies using mouse models of obesity, diabetes, and metabolic disease.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and GraphPad Prism.
  • Experience in the preparation of dosing large and small-molecule therapeutics.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to multitask to meet aggressive timelines.
  • Willingness to take on additional responsibilities and demonstrated experience of high performance in a matrix organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to work independently and effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Proven ability to operate autonomously and execute deliverables.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
