“The Immuno-Oncology Therapeutic Area in Discovery Research at Clients, South San Francisco (ASF) is seeking a highly motivated Senior Associate Scientist, who will contribute to drug discovery and research projects in the fields of T cell biology, immunology, and cancer biology. We are seeking a researcher who is enthusiastic about exploring the new area of research, innovating new technology, being an integral member of our discovery research team, collaborating with scientists in multiple functional areas at Amgen, and contributing to Amgen’s drug development pipeline and to peer-reviewed publications and patents.”
Basic Qualifications
Master’s degree
OR
Bachelor’s degree and 3-4 years of scientific experience in immunology or oncology or related field
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree or fresh Ph.D. graduate with research focus in immunology or Immuno-Oncology or related field.
Degree(s) in immunology, molecular biology, cell biology, cancer biology, or stem cell biology or equivalent area of study.
Expertise in one or more of these technical areas:
1) Complex cell-based assays with primary immune cell culture (e.g. multi-color flow cytometry, cytokine production, T cell culture, proliferation, etc.). Multi-color flow cytometry competency is a must-have.
2) Molecular biology and genetic engineering of primary immune cells (e.g. cloning, CRISPR KO, gene editing, electroporation of RNA, virus transduction, qPCR, etc.)
3) Direct experience with T cell-targeted therapy development (e.g. CAR-T, TCR-T, bispecific antibodies, targeted protein degradation, or small molecules) is a plus.
4) Ex vivo studies of adoptive T cell transfer, cancer and/or inflammation models is a plus
Effectively prioritize and execute next steps with efficient time management.
5) Demonstrate a track record of independent and creative designing of research projects and achievement through publications, patents, and/or significant contribution to drug development programs.
6) Strong organizational, interpersonal/teamwork and communication skills, both verbal and written. Preparation of presentation slides in addition to efficient presentation skills are must-have.
Top 3 Must Have Skill Sets:
* Must have immunology experience
*Cell culture assays preferably including primary mouse and human immune cells
*One or more cytokine analysis platforms including ELISA, EliSpot, MSD, Luminex, etc. and Multi-color flow cytometry
* PHD with the skillsets/ Masters degree with two years of experience with cell base background / Bachelors degree with 5+ years of experience
*Preparation of presentation slides in addition to efficient presentation skills are must-have.
