Job Summary:
Formulates and defines system scope and objectives. Developing, deploying, and maintaining our Data Governance program across the Enterprise. Working with health system leaders to identify priorities and align efforts across the Data Governance workstreams (Reference and Master Data; Metadata; Data Quality; Data Policy; Data Domains; Analytics). Provides guidance and training to other Application Specialists.
Use policies, procedures and tools to help to manage the integrity and usability of Atrium's data
Essential Functions:
- Coordinates with clients and peers to enhance Data Governance system functionality while understanding the possible ramifications to the client's business processes and Information Services. Ensures client requests are properly evaluated and responded to in a timely manner, particularly Data Governance needs and external data sharing requests.
- Leads teams and Data Governance program workstreams of one or more members in accordance with project demands. Ability to recognize individual team member competencies and assign tasks accordingly. Plans work effort of one's self and possibly other project team members.
- Manages training and Data Governance education when necessary, inclusive of course development and delivery. Ability to break down complex problems into manageable tasks.
- Demonstrates knowledge of Data Governance processes in the healthcare setting.
- Develops process and procedure documentation in support of Data Governance initiatives and programming
- Leads Data Governance program projects in one or more aspects of the information systems lifecycle (product selection, business requirement definition, communication, implementation, issue resolution, production support). Develops workplans, estimates tasks, and properly records time tracking for one's self and possibly other team members.
- Ensures successful completion of assigned projects on schedule, within budget, and in accordance within System standards
- Collaborate with the business clients to understand the data requirements, challenges and gaps
- Lead workstream efforts to support the Data Governance goals and align the priorities and technologies
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift objects that weigh up to 35 lbs. This position is subject to high-level visibility through verbal and written communications with senior hospital management, associated project deadlines, personnel evaluation, and counseling. Must be available for on-call support on a regular basis. Due to project requirements, overtime will be required, as needed.
Education, Experience and Certifications:
High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Formal training in Data Governance, project management, information systems and desktop applications preferred. Master's Degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Data Analytics, Statistics, Business Administration or another related field preferred. Formal training in a variety of information systems technology preferred: desktop applications (MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-PowerPoint), Data Governance, project management (PMP). 2 years' experience in the healthcare industry preferred. Experience with Informatica a plus.
