Job description

The Senior Applications Configuration Specialist will function as a subject matter expert on core business functions, processes, complex application configurations, and product support for the business units utilizing healthcare management software. In this role, the senior specialist will demonstrate advanced technological, organizational, and leadership skills, and provide a collaborative conduit between the IT department, the business units, and the vendor support team. They will be responsible for the workflow design, data collection, configuration, testing, maintenance, and implementation of new requirements for the healthcare management software.

This is a full-time remote opportunity. The selected candidate must reside in North Carolina and be willing to come into the Home office (Morrisville, NC) as needed.

Responsibilities & Duties

Development, configuration, and support activities for the Application product line

  • Assume the lead role for various application areas, including multiple data systems, API file structures, the technical structure of the code, business rules, and the design of requirements that govern the Jiva product and associated integrated system's functionality.
  • Takes the lead in guiding the Configuration Specialist and actively engages in the design of intricate process configurations and system testing.
  • Collaborate extensively with the application development and data interoperability teams in your role as the primary consultant responsible for overseeing the Jiva software modification requirements and interface design specifications.
  • Develop models to depict the data extraction occurring within the ETL process.
  • Design and develop reporting code based on requirement analysis within the Jiva application, utilizing SQL and SQL Server Reporting Services.
  • Document, plan, design, configure and/or code, test, and deploy Windows Form applications and/or changes following the software development life cycle (SDLC) procedure using C# or other applicable programming languages, in alignment with the Jiva team to connect to multiple data systems for monitoring APIs, updating DBs, and XML data sets for processing.
  • Provides and coordinates training and mentoring of other team members.
  • Analyze proposed product design and configuration changes to determine the effect on the overall system and suggest appropriate alternatives and solutions.
  • Plans, implements, and manages the configuration control process during product configuration, testing, and migration between environments, including business reviews and approvals.

Oversee end-to-end testing

  • Write and perform unit, end-to-end testing, and debugging—set test conditions based on code specifications.
  • Able to analyze and debug complex data errors and provide resolutions as required.

Documentation development and maintenance

  • Develop and implement detailed workflows and process improvement in a healthcare environment to deliver high-impact solutions to the organization.
  • Identify and document the functional and technical characteristics of the product configuration, provide the appropriate change control document, and report those changes.
  • Provide version control and documentation of all element migrations between the various Application environments.
  • Provides advice and guidance on methods, procedures, and requirements to individuals responsible for the creation of documentation

Minimum Requirements

Education & Experience

Required:

Graduation from a Community College or Technical School with a degree in Computer Science or a related field and more than seven (7) years of experience with increasing responsibilities in complex software configuration management and supporting information technology. Experience in an IT-related position or field of work may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in information technology, engineering, computer science, or related field and more than six years of progressive experience in complex software configuration management and supporting information technology. Experience in insurance or healthcare industries is a plus

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Expert knowledge in configuring software applications.
  • Expert knowledge in T-SQL scripting and database functionality.
  • Expert knowledge of debugging complex stored procedures.
  • Expert knowledge of the Software and Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Skilled in developing and managing SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
  • Experience with debugging code in Visual Studio 2015+
  • Experience working in an agile and collaborative team environment.
  • Experience with XML and JSON data structures
  • Experience with C# development
  • Ability to align projects with corporate strategy, business requirements, and IT capabilities
  • Ability to conduct data analysis on databases/data sets and to understand data, find and work to correct data quality issues.
  • Ability to grasp complex systems logic and integration requirements
  • Possesses critical thinking and problem-solving skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions consistent with corporate business objectives and strategy.
  • High level of self-motivation and keen attention to detail
  • Team player requires minimal management oversight and supervision
  • Demonstrates innovative and independent decision-making skills.

Salary Range

$96,022 - $160,037/ Annually

Exact compensation will be determined based on the candidate's education, experience, external market data and consideration of internal equity.
