About us

Anderson Plumbing is full service plumbing company operating in Lafayette, Indiana and serving the surrounding counties. We offer residential and commercial services as well as new construction in the new home sector as well as light commercial new builds and remodels.

Position Title: Service Department Secretary

Purpose:

Answer telephones, input data on computer and perform filing duties. Maintain accurate and on-time reports and records relative to the financial functions of the business. Coordinate activities and cooperate with other departments of the business to best serve the service needs of the customer.

Essential Functions:

  • Answers telephones quickly in a friendly and personable manner.
  • Completes requests by greeting customers, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries; notifying customer of service rates at time of call.
  • Produces information by transcribing, formatting, inputting, editing, retrieving, copying, and transmitting text, data, and graphics.
  • Organizes work by reading and routing correspondence; collecting information; initiating telecommunications.
  • Maintains department schedule by maintaining calendars for department personnel; Scheduling service work, creating/maintaining customer service accounts in company records, maintain customer maintenance program schedule, and arranging meetings.
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Keeps office equipment operation by following manufacturer instructions and establishes procedures.
  • Provides historical reference by utilizing filing and retrieval systems.
  • Check invoices daily for completeness and accuracy.
  • When necessary, assist with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions, including billing and collections.

Other Tasks:

  • Participate in company functions and meetings.
  • Make sure office is clean, dusted, and organized.
  • Perform any other special duties requested by either the office manager or other department managers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Computer experience and knowledge using Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Lift up to 30 pounds.
  • The environment is mainly inside.
