Job description

Mary T Maryland is now hiring for a full-time Receptionist to work at our main office located in Millersville, MD.

The Receptionist is responsible for overseeing front desk operations and creating a positive first impression for all visitors at our facility.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC JOB DUTIES

  • Serve visitors by greeting, welcoming, assisting and directing them appropriately
  • Represent the facility to visitors, vendors and community members in a friendly, helpful, professional manner
  • Addresses clients by their preferred name
  • Maintain front desk phone systems including answering incoming calls, directing calls as appropriate, and taking and giving accurate messages
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail including sorting and ensuring delivery to the appropriate parties
  • Notify company personnel of visitor arrival
  • Maintain employee and department directories
  • Maintain security by following procedures including monitoring the logbook and issuing visitor badges
  • Assist with the distribution of company updates and newsletter publications as applicable
  • Assist with ordering of supplies and with supply management
  • Assist with various administrative duties as assigned and requested

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license, auto insurance and reliable transportation
  • Previous guest services experience preferred
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and motor vehicle record check

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Ability to demonstrate and practice the principles of proper body mechanics for all physical activities
  • Ability to practice standards and facility infection control procedures
  • Knowledge of and ability to use position related equipment properly and safely
  • Proficient computer skills with ability to become proficient with company software and data systems
  • Knowledge of basic Microsoft Office program use
  • Ability to work independently with minimal instruction
  • Ability to communicate effectively
