Location: 59/Chimney Rock
The Payroll Administrator is responsible for processing salaried and hourly payrolls. This position performs payroll related duties in the following areas: weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly payroll processing, system data entry of new hires, terminations, and employee status changes, and supports compensation management processes. This position manages the time and attendance systems, and provides administrative and team support.
POSITION KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Accurately and timely preparation, documentation, and processing of payroll for 200 employees.
- Payroll transactions include management of earning codes (i.e., commissions, rig pay, truck pay, per diem, bonuses, etc.), deductions, (i.e. benefits, 401k, etc.), one-time payroll transactions, adjustments, while ensuring payroll completion within ADP deadlines.
- Setup of State Tax Entities via ADP and manage multi-state tax withholdings for employees based on their individual state of residence.
- Manage the time and attendance systems; single point of contact with employees and supervisors; maintain employee time-off (vacation, sick, etc.) balances. Manage Uni-Time and close Weekly; Communicate with Management for Time-Off Approvals.
- Update Annual Time-Off Accruals.
- Set up and train new supervisors with access to the time and attendance system to track and approve employee hours.
- Maintain organized files to ensure accurate payroll record retention.
- Respond to Federal and State payroll notices & assist in the preparation of audit request.
- Prepare Documentation and enter New Hires, Terminations, and Employee status changes in HR systems and maintain current employee records.
- Support HR Director in annual compensation review processes and bonus programs.
- Supports HR processes and actively participates in efforts to streamline and improve Payroll and HR activities and processes through technology.
- Ensure sound HR and Payroll practices and compliance with Federal and State laws.
- Support Department and Company events and other duties as required.
- Manage Year-End Payrolls processes.
- Issue and Manage Annual W-2’s and 1095’s.
- Manage Data Integrity of ADP; single point of contact for data entry into ADP.
- Manage User Security Access of ADP.
- Respond to and setup Tax Levies, Garnishments, and Child Support Court Orders.
SKILLS/CERTIFICATIONS:
· Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
· Excellent customer service orientation.
· Proficient in Business Systems of MS Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
· Excellent communication (verbal and written), organized and critical thinking skills.
· Ability to acquire knowledge of multi-state payroll laws and execute within compliance.
· Proficient mathematical skills, ability to multi-task, prioritize, and troubleshoot issues to resolution.
· Demonstrated ability to work effectively and positively with a wide variety of groups, cultures and individuals, including conflict resolution skills.
· Knowledge of State and Federal legislation impacting employment practices including Wage & Hour, EEO, etc.
· Ability to effectively facilitate and execute HR department initiatives.
· Prior experience and proficiency with HRIS
· Professional certification - CPP a plus.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or Business-related Field OR equivalent related work experience.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
- Four years of Payroll or business-related experience including managing a time and attendance system.
- Work experience in a manufacturing /pipeline /construction /energy services industry environment preferred.
