Job Description
The Payment Posting Specialist plays a critical role in accurately recording and reconciling patient payments, collaborating extensively with the payer strategy team to address insurance-related aspects. Their duties encompass posting payments, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining meticulous financial records.
The Payment Posting Specialist's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Responsibilities:
- Collection and management of outstanding patient accounts for all services
- Monitoring and disputing credit card chargebacks
- Maintaining patient support communications in Zendesk
- Accessing and updating patient electronic medical records (EMR)
- Follow-up by email and/or telephone on all outstanding insurance claims with patients
- Responds to and interacts with patients concerning all aspects of billing via phone, e-mail, or regular mail in a prompt and courteous manner
- Process charges and refunds for patients
Required Qualifications:
- Must have 2-3 years of medical billing experience and collections (required)
- Must have 2 years of EMR experience (required)
- Must have 2 years of medical Payment Posting experience (required)
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner
- Ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization
- Medical billing certification a plus
- Telemedicine billing experience a plus
