Job Description
- Partner with AppFolio’s Fraud Operations team to provide recommendations to implement relevant Anti-Money Laundering transaction monitoring rules for the APM and IM verticals.
- Collaborate with Fraud Operations, Risk, and Underwriting teams to refine suspicious activity detection and abnormal behavioral patterns related to potential money laundering and terrorism financing.
- Partner with and review escalations from AppFolio’s Risk & Fraud teams to investigate suspicious activity and file Unusual Activity Reports (UARs) when necessary.
- Maintain and streamline AppFolio’s Unusual Activity Reporting process to meet UAR Service Level Agreement obligations with its payment partners.
- Be the second-line escalation contact for customer-facing support teams regarding ad-hoc compliance-related activities and requests.
- Assist in the scaling and ongoing enhancement of AppFolio’s AML and Payments Compliance Program
- Assist with audit requests to maintain compliance with certain regulatory and third-party partner requirements

- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience in operations compliance analyst in financial services, MSB, or Fintech
- Experience in data analytics (SQL)
- Strong understanding of AML/BSA, Know Your Customer (“KYC”); Internal Controls (Transactions Monitoring System)
Nice to have
- Certified Anti-Money Laundering (CAMS) certification
- Strong knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering/Bank Secrecy Act (AML/BSA)
- Knowledge of Online Payments Industry
