We are working alongside our client to assist in finding the right talent. They are a growing construction company that is looking for a Controller to join their financial team for their office in Tempe, Arizona. The ideal candidate has excellent communication and multitasking skills, a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
The Controller should be able to successfully complete their tasks and are responsible for the financial and accounting functions of the company and affiliated entities controlled by ownership. A successful candidate will have experience with general ledger accounting, with a background in accruals, reconciliations, multiple companies and associated intercompany transactions.

Duties will include, but not limited to:
- Working with the accounting team to learn current procedures and processes.
- Oversee all accounting cycle, including Accounts Payable, PLN and lien releases, Certificates of Insurance, Exemption Certificate, 1099, Accounts Receivable including Pay Applications, Payroll, Licensing, and Prequalification.
- Responsible for Banking, Audits required, CCIP Insurance, Sales Tax Reporting, Cost Reporting, Weekly/Monthly Balancing, Monthly/Quarterly/Yearly closing procedures to assist the CFO.
- Mentoring direct reports to grow in their roles & responsibilities as the company continues to grow.
- Perform special assignments as directed by the Ownership and Advisory Board.
Experience:
- At least 2 - 5 years of experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller required
- Construction accounting experience is preferred
- Working knowledge of accounting principles and Microsoft Office
- Foundation software knowledge is a plus
- Knowledge of human resources duties is a plus!
- Self-motivated, self-directed and an exceptional attention to detail
- Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic, rapidly changing and growing business environment

Compensation & Management:
- Salary will be commensurate with experience.
- This position will work closely with the CEO & CFO
