The Town of Acton is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time Administrative Assistant position for the Land Use Department.
General Duties and Responsibilities: Provides daily support for the Land Use department offices (Building, Health, Planning, and Conservation) by answering general questions and processing permits. This position will act as the Customer Service representative with other Administrative Assistants in the Land Use Department. Provides basic information to customers about plumbing, electrical, gas, roofing, siding and any other building permit questions including mandatory timelines and fee structure. Provides basic information on other Land Use permits to customers. Files and organizes documents. Receives daily records requests and retrieves records information from the archives. Answers and assists with Hotline calls and provides customer service to town departments. Performs similar or related work and duties as assigned.
Minimum Entrance Requirements: High School diploma or equivalency, plus two (2) years of office or Administrative Assistant experience. Experience in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications: An Associates degree or equivalent in Business-related fields. Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite, OpenGov, and Munis.
Special Requirements: Work schedule is between 15 to 19 hours per week.
Pay Rate: Starting pay at H-7: $26.27 – $29.57/hour
Benefits: Free transportation from the commuter rail station to Town Hall.
