Position Summary
The Office Support Coordinator is responsible for receptionist and administrative support duties in the Academic Advising Center and Transfer Resource Center. Critical responsibilities include providing front line reception and customer service, greeting campus visitors, answering phones, assisting with office operations management, and performing any other administrative duties required. The coordinator is responsible for opening the front office and maintaining office advising drop-in schedule. The incumbent must be able to work independently to ensure the effective operation of the front desk in the Academic Advising Center.
FLSA: Non-Exempt (eligible for overtime)
Anticipated Hiring Range: Anticipated hiring range is near or at the minimum of the classification ($ 3,681 per month - $ 3,865 per month), commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.
CSU Classification Salary Range: $ 3,681 per month - $ 6,034 per month

The Academic Advising Center offers mandatory freshman and transfer orientation, mandatory freshman advising, and general education and graduation requirement advising for all students. The center engages students in a developmental process that helps them clarify and implement individual educational plans consistent with their skills, interests, and values. Minimum Qualifications
Entry to this classification requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures. Additionally, incumbents are expected to have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be able to clearly communicate orally and in writing. Some positions may require a knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic. The ability to use and quickly learn new Office Support technology systems and software packages is also a prerequisite.
These entry qualifications would normally be obtained through a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with several years of related office work experience.

Experience
- Experience in clerical and administrative support functions for academic and/or special programs.
- Experience providing a broad range of customer service.
- Experience in Microsoft Office Suite and Customer Relations Management.
- Experience in many different administrative duties, office procedures, and secretarial duties.
- Experience scheduling, organizing, and planning events.
Skills/Ability
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; effective listening skills; strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to use judgment and discretion to act when precedents do not exist.
- Ability to troubleshoot most office administration problems and respond to all inquiries and requests related to work area.
- Ability to perform standard business math, and make simple projections requiring some inference, including tracking and comparing data.
- Ability to handle effectively a broader range of interpersonal contacts, including those at a higher level and those sensitive in nature.
- Ability to use general office equipment and a full range of Office Support technology and systems.
- Ability to independently handle multiple work unit priorities and projects.
- Ability to organize, plan, develop, and assist in designing and distributing event marketing and promotional materials (e.g. flyers, brochures, surveys, email communications, etc.).
- Proficiency with standard office programs (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite) with the ability to perform accurate data entry using databases, and create presentations and other documents.
- Ability to use social media technology (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram).
- Ability to appropriately handle confidential materials.

- Experience working in an institution of higher education.
- Knowledge of Common Management System (CMS) or comparable student information system.
