Overview
Job Functions:
The descriptions below are just representative of the duties and responsibilities of an intake coordinator.
- Accept/make calls regarding new patient referrals from referral sources and/or from field marketers for purposes of taking new patients
- Entry of patient's information to our patient database
- Runs new patient insurance eligibility, and coordinates start of care with authorization department if necessary
- Requests and secures missing documentation necessary for starting a patient’s care, such as doctor orders
- Confirms community physician oversight for patients by phone and chart research
- May make phone contact with the patient/family to schedule the initial start of care visit
- Schedules start of care for patient in system and coordinates with clinical staff to ensure availability
- Develops and maintains rapport between patients, families, field marketing representatives, and referral sources
- Maintains compliance of all state, federal, and payor regulation, and upholds the company’s standards of ethics and customer service
- Assists intake with reports or monthly eligibility checks as needed
- Other duties assigned by supervisors for the purpose of coordinating intake and/or care of new patients.
- Clerical support/ HR assistant and accounts payable support
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
- Ability to type 40 WPM and proficient ability in 10-Key
- Acute eye for accuracy and detail
- Demonstrates strong prioritization and multi-tasking skills
- Exceptional telephone customer service skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a compassionate attitude and an ability to exhibit grace under pressure
- Ability to work independently
- Home health/hospice setting experience is a PLUS.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
