Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Clinical Education & Professional Practice and in accordance with the American Heart Association, the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education, the office administrator for the Department of Clinical Education supports the clinical education staff by assisting with student placements, maintenance of the life support program, and assistance with continuing education programs for clinical staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health Ministry.
- Facilitates student placements through use of the Centralized Clinical Placement Grid and engages in clear communication with academic partners
- Manages administrative duties associated with continuing education for clinical staff, assists with the education credentialing process, and works collaboratively with education committee
- Serves as the American Heart Association training center coordinator, assists with scheduling, tracking, and purchasing of life support certifications
- Supports and works collaboratively with the education staff to ensure smooth daily operations and works to support high quality patient care
- Assists in the maintenance of educational records
- Participates in committees and acts as a scribe or other roles as assigned
- Other duties as consistent with this role.

- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher
- Demonstrates proficient organizational skills, flexibility, and the ability to perform job responsibilities independently
- Demonstrates good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team setting
- Uses critical thinking skills and creativity to solve problems
Education and Experience
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- 2 years administrative experience in a healthcare setting preferred
- Experience with program coordination preferred
An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with this position that involves a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching. Occasional lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs. Some stress related to high level of responsibility for quality care.
