Virginia Sleep & TMJ Therapy is a small, privately owned practice that supplies oral appliance therapy (DME) for patients who have been diagnosed with sleep apnea and are referred to our clinic for care. Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and organized Medical Receptionist to join our team. As a Medical Receptionist, you will play a crucial role in providing administrative support and ensuring smooth operations at our medical facility. Your attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and ability to multitask will contribute to the overall efficiency of our practice.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Answer phone calls and schedule appointments using medical scheduling systems
- Collect patient information and update electronic medical records
- Verify insurance information and assist with billing inquiries
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk area
- Assist with medical record management, including filing and retrieval
- Coordinate referrals from other healthcare providers as needed
- Handle patient inquiries and provide accurate information regarding services offered
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient operations
Skills:
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist, Medical Administrative Support, or similar role preferred
- Strong administrative skills with proficiency in handling front desk responsibilities
- Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with medical records management
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficiency in using phone systems and other office equipment
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
