Objective:
Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the manufacturing facility. Coordinate, plan, and direct all the activities related to manufacturing process to include operations, maintenance, engineering, and capital expenditure request /implementation.
Establish manufacturing policies and procedures.
Guarantee production and delivery of products in respect to the agreed time, quality, and costs.
Hire, train, and assess the performance of the manufacturing staff.

Assures the manufacturing of porous body getters, sputtered getters, pumps, and barium getter assembly. Guarantee delivery of product in respect of the agreed time, quality, and costs. Ensure compliance with ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and EAR (Export Administration Regulations) with respect to these activities.
Oversee and direct activities of collateral positions in the manufacturing organization as necessary to achieve company goals and ensure customer satisfaction.
Based on the data from the application engineers and in collaboration with them, define both medium- and long-term production plans and scheduling.
Based on the data from the commercial departments define raw material planning and scheduling.
Systematically monitor productivity at SUSA plant with the aim of optimizing production processes as they relate to the operation schedule and sizing of production factors.
Assure a constant and normal operation of plant equipment defining and implementing the necessary maintenance plans.
Manage the quality control activities as they pertain to manufacturing and product realization, quality manual, quality policies, document, and data control, purchased materials and services, customer supplied product, product identification and traceability, production process control, inspection, and testing, measuring and test equipment, nonconforming material, and corrective action. Assure that gauge calibration activities to include the maintenance of the secondary transfer standards used in vacuum gauge calibration.
Oversee the building security as well as burglar and fire alarm systems. Coordinate periodic testing of systems in coordination with local police and fire departments as necessary.
Oversee safety activities to include holding periodic safety meetings, providing for accident investigation and prevention programs, providing for the coordination of first aid training, fire prevention and suppression training, health, and safety awareness programs.
Oversee the environmental programs to include the collection and disposal of production scrap, waste chemicals and hazardous materials. Oversee and support the acquisition of any necessary permits and licenses.
Oversee and/or perform the incremental design and development activities at SUSA, by collecting and evaluating design inputs, performing feasibility studies, creating preliminary and final drawings, creating technical specifications, convening, and conducting design reviews, implementing the design in production, performing design verification and validations, ensuring compliance with ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and EAR (Export Administration Regulations)
Establish and monitor the annual budget for all manufacturing activities at SUSA to include capital expenditures, employee salaries, ongoing facility expenses, raw materials, tools, equipment, and other supplies.
Assure competence settings, review of performance based on assessment of competences. Set specific objectives as required. Review position requirements and training matrices updating as required. Assure development and training of collaborators in respect of development / training plans and budget.
Other duties as assigned.
Education:
BSEE, BSME, Physics degree preferred and equivalent combination of education and experience minimum of 5 years of combined work experience in engineering and manufacturing management.
Training/Experience:
PVD and powder metallurgy. Ability to train others in these areas.
Familiarity with vacuum technology, hands on experience operating and troubleshooting complex production equipment.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Excellent team-building and interpersonal skills.
Strong leadership skills and ability to manage cross-functional team members.
Technical competencies in manufacturing (e.g., technical drawings, blueprints, CAD/CAM)
Experiences specifying and installing production equipment and facility upgrades.
To include working with equipment vendors, contractors, outside engineering firms
and government agencies.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems and other industry software.
Physical Demands:
Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment. Some periods of time may be spent in spaces for installation, testing, and troubleshooting. Some work will require moving and lifting to 30 lbs.
