Our location in Alameda, CA currently has an opportunity for a Sustaining Electrical Engineer. This individual will work on product improvement actives of critical electrical designs for medical products. Exercises independent judgment in identifying, recommending and implementing significant and/or complex new electrical design improvements to meet existing product and regulatory requirements. The Sustaining Electrical Engineer will work on technical reviews of the electrical design updates with cross-functional R&D colleagues and develop networks involving cross functional/cross departmental groups as well as communication to senior management.

What You’ll Work On

  • Electrical/Hardware Engineer that will support sustaining activities.
  • Identify and qualify alternate electronic components based on market availability and ability to update designs when needed.
  • Addressing component (EOL), Supply Mitigation, Product investigations
  • Support and conduct EMC testing both internally and with external testing facilities
  • Communicate effectively and participate on cross functional development teams.
  • Write and submit Engineering Change Orders in Agile (a product life cycle management tool.)
  • Comply with all applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and perform other duties as assigned by the Management Team
  • Create in Altium schematics, gerbers, assemblies, and design files and release into document control system.

Required Qualifications

  • BS in an Electrical Engineering Discipline (Electrical or Physics preferred), or equivalent relevant experience as well as 3-5 years of experience.
  • Experience with End of Life components or supply mitigation.
  • Ability to analyze circuit to identify root cause of failure.
  • Experience with Altium schematics desired.
  • Proficient with EMC testing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.

The base pay for this position is $83,600.00 – $167,200.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
