The Opportunity
The position is responsible for providing daily site Facility Management support of many facilities in Lake County. Role is the liaison between Maintenance / Engineering and the building occupants. Responsible for LBE process, financial reporting as well as financial internal controls and overall financial support of initiatives and programs. This position works out of our Lake County and is first shift.
What You’ll Work On
- Communicate with customers on a daily basis.
- Provide emergency response to manufacturing/laboratory and office facility issues resulting in employee safety issues, outages, building damage or disruptions to production.
- Work closely with Corporate Maintenance on facility maintenance issues.
- Address facility problems and implement projects to support office & manufacturing spaces.
- Keep facilities in a state of readiness for audits by regulatory agencies.
- Prepare and implement a facility long range plan for inclusion in the division’s (LRP) Long Range Plan and Capital Plan.
- Serve as coordinator liaison with all project teams with activity in the facility. Facility Engineer will be main point of contact for any activities in the facility.
- Control and maintain Facility Expense budget for assigned buildings or systems.
- Provide emergency response to facility issues resulting in employee safety issues, outages, building damage or disruptions to production 24/7 response.
- Support shutdowns for various corporate facility projects such as PMs for air handlers, substations, steam line or fresh water line repairs, roof replacements etc.
- Complete facility projects as requested by occupants such as installing racking, replacing flooring, installing cabinets and sinks, painting etc. These projects are perceived to be of great importance by our occupants.
- Provide facility support to equipment engineers or Global Engineering Services project engineers.
- Assist laboratory clients with investigations into issues in production areas where the room owner cannot identify the cause of the problem.
- Prepare facility for external and internal tours of the building including all GES owned areas such as..mechanical rooms, penthouses mezzanines etc.
- Coordinate “Building Ownership” program which will involve bi-weekly meetings with building stakeholders and quarterly facility inspection.
- Facility (4 walls) demand maintenance in labs, manufacturing, office and common areas.
- Cooler/freezer/ incubator operation issues
- Room pressurization problems
- HVAC issues in labs, manufacturing, office and common areas
- Emergency response for facility issues
- Lighting issues in labs, manufacturing, office and common areas
- Life safety concerns in facility
- Capital LRPs for all areas including lab and manufacturing areas.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering, science, or closely related discipline is desired, or equivalent technical experience plus demonstrated competence
- Strong technical knowledge (construction or maintenance related work) and application of concepts, practices, and procedures. Works on problems of complex scope where analysis of situations or data involves multiple competing factors. Exercises judgment and advises management as to the appropriate actions.
- Ability to interact well with diverse groups within engineering and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external collaborators
- Ability to use and understand Microsoft Suite

The base pay for this position is $72,700.00 – $145,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
