Overview:
Our client will be hiring an IT Infrastructure Manager to lead an IT team that includes two Senior Systems Administrators. Strong people-management skills and a background in Windows Systems administration will be important. Linux knowledge is preferred. The team plans to add a Network/Security Engineer and a Systems administrator in the future.
Our client is an industry leader in network visibility and security solutions. Their customers include Fortune 1000 companies to midsize organizations as well as government and defense agencies.
This position will work primarily onsite in Wilsonville, Oregon. Work hours are flexible.
Responsibilities:
- Leads and guides the IT team, providing strategic direction, oversight, and fostering a collaborative work environment for all IT initiatives
- Builds and develops a high-performing IT team through effective recruitment, training, mentorship, and coordination of efforts
- Works with the IT team to identify and mitigate potential risks, issues, and necessary upgrades across IT infrastructure, systems, and applications
- Formulates, develops, validates, reviews, and implements IT policies, procedures, and best practices, ensuring adherence and understanding within the IT team
- Focuses on ensuring the IT team maintains a service-oriented approach
- Collaborates effectively with internal and external teams to understand system requirements, fostering positive relationships and cross-functional teamwork
- Delegates responsibilities effectively within the IT team to manage Microsoft IIS, Active Directory, Exchange, physical and virtual servers
- Coordinates efforts among the IT team to ensure seamless implementation of on-site installation, setup, and integration of internal tools and systems
- Directly oversees the security of the network, including intrusion detection and prevention solutions, providing guidance to the IT team in implementing robust security measures
Qualifications:
- IT Manager with 3+ years leading IT Systems Administrators or Network Engineers (team of 4-5 is ideal)
- Background in network engineering or Windows system administration
Preferred:
- CCNP, CCNA or equivalent network security certification
- Ability to manage Microsoft and Linux based environments and web servers (Mac experience is beneficial)
- Understanding of network monitoring tools
- Knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructures, management, monitoring, and security
